I'm Steve Morris, the proprietor here and an old deadhead.
In 1969 I boarded a certain bus... and that's kind of where this shop all began. Sadly, for me, I live on another continent but I rode on that bus in spirit (often at night) many, many times. I saw the band three times in '72 and again in '74 and '81. Finally twice in 1990 (Halloween Werewolf of London; November 1st's Dark Star was my final show.
As well as being inspired, and uplifted in many ways, by the Grateful Dead I have been making images with a wide range of computers since the late 1970s. From IBM 370 Series mainframes calculating data to make graphics on colour terminals and plotters to modern Apple powerhouses making photographic collages and Ai art.
Along the way I interlaced stints as a professional corporate applications team contractor (all the roles) with sundry diversions and excursions on BBC B, Amigas, PCs+Windows, Macs+OSX, and more doing a professional mix of applications design, pre-press, screen printing, litho, CGI, animation, 3D, TV news video, TV graphics, photography & video shoots, editing, production, finishing... and some charity work when I could lend a hand with one thing or another.
My latest muse is generative Ai. I wrangle models at mage.space mostly (SD, Z-Image, Flux, LoRAs, Mango, Nano B., etc). I use a Z-image instance to recognise past works ex machina DALL-E v3 at Bing and re-create them in finer style with prompts for an instance at mage. Wonderful interpretations and great image quality.
